New page

===Inspiration===
'''7/8''' was originally written for Round Eight of the 2010 ''[[Whittaker Prize]]''. The prompt used was a picture (no idea what of - maybe a spider?). It was given a score of 78/100 by the judge, Catherine Edmunds, who remarked that "this poem's great fun, but probably too lightweight for a competition entry." The rhythm of the original version is also a bit problematic, and I made some significant changes before it reached its final state.

===Publications===
Despite several efforts on my part, this is the first time that '''7/8''' has been published.

===Notes===
Ever since I discovered that there were time signatures other than 3/4 and 4/4 available, I've been a big fan of music that uses the likes of 7/8, and I thought with this piece, it might be fun to do the same with a poem.
