I Think We’re a Clone Now
Inspiration
I Think We’re a Clone Now was originally written for the 2017 National Flash Fiction Day Anthology, where it was rejected, along with my other two submissions. This was therefore the first year that I failed to make it into the NFFD anthology. I'm not entirely sure what the inspiration was, although I imagine I started off wondering about clones and conspiracy theories and took it from there.
Placings
I entered I Think We’re a Clone Now for the Summer 2017 Reflex Fiction Flash Competition, where it wasn't quite longlisted, but was liked sufficiently by the judges that they published it on their website on August 16th, 2017 as "one of their favourite non-long-listed stories".
Notes
When I gave this story its title, I was completely unaware of "Weird Al" Yankovic's "I Think I'm A Clone Now", as featured on his 1988 album Even Worse. This is no longer the case.
