Dinner With Sylvia

Inspiration

Dinner With Sylvia was originally written for the Verulam Writers Circle's 2004 Lisbeth Philips Award, where it won 3rd place. I can't remember what the theme was, but I'm guessing that there was food involved in some way.

Publications

After an inordinate number of failures (broken only by a shortlisting for Liars' League's Feast and Famine event), Dinner With Sylvia was finally accepted by The Battered Suitcase and published in their Autumn 2011 edition, seven years after it was written. This turned out to be that particular zine's final edition, although one hopes that the presence of my work had nothing to do with this.
