Bad news, Jane. Reports from Ireland of feasting on donkey and carrot soup. ;)

Looking forward to your GW10 session, Vanessa, and congrats on your story in 100 Stories for Haiti.

Excellent interview, Jon.

Jon - thank you so much for your review, your great response to the book and for our natter. Looking forward greatly to meeting the Verulam Writers team abnd the other invited speakers at Get Writing conference on 20th. Happy happy writing.

Jane - Your cheque is tied to the saddlebag of an elderly donkey, sent off from here with a bag of carrots and a red ribbon round his head so you'll recognise him when he arrives. I'm leaving it up to him how he gets across the Irish Sea. He is a very resourceful donkey.

Seriously (as if that wasn't) thank you for your super phrase desrbing SC - 'insightful, fascinating and witty'.

I agree.

Jon, I bought a copy of this book for myself when it was first published, and I've found it incredibly valuable. If anyone reading this review is interested in writing short stories (and I suspect there are a fair few who will be) then I urge them to buy this book. Don't stop to think about it, just buy it. It's insightful, fascinating and witty, and I love it.

(And Vanessa, you now owe me a fiver.)
